Calculate a global UV-index field

This standalone calculator runs the radiative-transfer Fortran model for a selected day of year and atmospheric input fields. Explore the result on the globe or export it as CSV.

Calculation inputs

Choose a day of year and optionally replace the bundled input fields with your own files.

Input fields

Upload your own fields only when you want to replace the model's bundled data. Invalid files are not attached.

Input file format

A headerless UTF-8 text file contains 162 consecutive latitude blocks from -80.5° to 80.5° in 1° steps. Each block starts with its latitude followed by 360 field values for longitudes from -179.5° to 179.5°.

-80.50000 value_1 value_2 … value_360 -79.50000 value_1 …

The file must contain 58,482 numbers in total. Spaces and line breaks are both valid separators, so the physical line count does not matter. Any filename extension is accepted; the maximum size is 2 MB. Latitude order must not be changed.

Download a working example for each field below. These are the same Input files used by the model by default.
